Neighbor and Roommate Cockroach Videos: Noise, Dishes, the Building Chat
A neighbor cockroach video is the passive-aggressive note, upgraded: type the line, and a cartoon roach in the hallway says it out loud, lip-synced, in a short vertical clip. Works for the building group chat and the roommate who thinks the sink is storage.
Shared walls and shared kitchens are comedy engines. The upstairs neighbor who rearranges furniture at 1 AM, the building chat that escalates over a parking cone, the roommate with a labeled yogurt and an unlabeled conscience. Say it with a roach.

Furniture at 1 AM
Upstairs neighbor, what are you moving at 1 AM? A piano? Every night? A new piano?
The upstairs-noise classic; forward it to the neighbor with a wink.
Dishes Are Not Soaking
The dishes are not "soaking". It's been four days. They live here now.
For the roommate whose pan has become a resident.
Building Chat Escalation
The building group chat went from "who parked here" to a constitutional crisis in nine messages.
Post it in the building chat itself; risky, glorious.
The Labeled Yogurt Confession
You labeled the yogurt. I respect that. I ate it. I respect that too.
Roommate fridge crime, confessed with confidence.
Roach in the Hallway
A roach in an apartment hallway holding a broom against the ceiling, saying: "One more stomp and I'm returning the favor at 6 AM."
The broom-on-the-ceiling revenge fantasy, finally on camera.
Kitchen Sink Crime Scene
A roach in a shared kitchen staring at a mountain of dishes, arms crossed, saying: "I live with a person or a raccoon. Unclear."
Shared-kitchen scene for the roommate group; no names needed.
Roommate Dish Debate
Roach: Your dishes have been soaking since Tuesday. Roommate roach: It's a deep soak. Roach: It's a swamp.
The soaking excuse, destroyed in three lines.
Three Roaches, One Thermostat
Roach: Who set it to 78? Roommate roach: I was cold. Third roach: It's July.
A three-roach argument; write a line for each roommate.
The building group chat needs a cockroach
Every building group chat is one parking cone away from civil war, and a talking cockroach from Roachy: AI Talking Cockroach is the only member who can say the quiet part. "What are you moving at 1 AM, a piano?" sent as a roach video gets a laugh; sent as a text it gets a formal complaint. Neighbor cockroach videos work because the roach in the hallway is so obviously a bit: nobody is named, nobody's door is shown, and the point lands anyway. Short, vertical, and playable inside the chat, it's the passive-aggressive note that finally got funny.
Roommate roasts: dishes, thermostat, the mystery Tupperware
Roommate life is a sitcom with no writers, so write it. The dishes that are "soaking", the thermostat war, the labeled yogurt, the Tupperware nobody claims and nobody opens. Put the shared kitchen or the hallway in the text, and give each roommate a line: "Roach:", "Roommate roach:", "Third roach:". Each name becomes a cockroach in the clip and every line is said exactly as typed, so a three-way argument fits in 10 seconds if you keep the lines short. Roast the crime, not the criminal; you still have to share a bathroom.
- Dishes: the soak that became a swamp
- Thermostat: it's 78 and it's July
- Fridge: labeled, respected, eaten
Sending it without starting a hallway war
The goal is a laugh, not a lease dispute. Keep names and apartment numbers out of the line, aim at the behavior, and send the clip in a way that reads as a joke: the roommate group, not the landlord. For the building chat, the generic version ("upstairs neighbor", "whoever parked here") works best because half the building thinks it's about someone else. Make it in the Create tab, wait for the notification, save it from My Videos, and post. If the upstairs neighbor replies with their own roach, congratulations, you have a friend now.
How to make it in Roachy
- Open the Create tab and type the line, or one line per roommate written as "Roach: / Roommate roach: / Third roach:".
- Set a length between 3 and 10 seconds, pick a quality, and tap Create. It renders on the server; go put your dishes away meanwhile.
- When the notification comes, open My Videos, save it, and send it to the building chat or pin it to the fridge, digitally.
Questions
Can I have three roaches argue, one per roommate?
Yes. The "Who: what they say" format isn't limited to two; write a line for each roommate on its own line and each becomes a cockroach in the clip. Keep it to three or four short lines so it fits in 10 seconds.
Can I report or block someone on the Discover wall?
Yes. Every video on the Discover wall has a report option, and reported videos come down immediately. You can also block the creator of a video so you don't see theirs again. The wall is anonymous, so no usernames are shown either way.
How do I delete my account if I move out of Roachy?
You can delete your account from inside the app or from the account deletion page on this site, whichever is easier. It's an 18+ app with no ads and no tracking, so there is no ad profile to chase down afterwards either.
