What is Roachy (Roachy AI), and who makes it?

Roachy (also called Roachy AI or the Roachy app; full store name Roachy: AI Talking Cockroach) is a mobile app that turns one typed line into a short vertical video of a talking cartoon cockroach. It is built and run by Ginowl, the studio name of independent developer Yiğit Samet Ölmez, based in Türkiye. This site is the app's official home. The Android app is on Google Play; the iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store.

How the videos are made

Your text goes through two steps on our servers. First a quick pre-check (Google Gemini) turns every character in the text into a cockroach while leaving the spoken words untouched. Then a video model (run through fal.ai) renders the clip with lip-synced speech in the language you typed. Nothing is drawn by hand and no two videos are the same, which is why results can surprise you.

What we filter, and what we don't

Sexual content and nudity are blocked before generation, and the AI provider's own moderation applies on top. Profanity is not filtered: the app is rated 18+ and a lot of banter simply sounds like that. Videos published to Discover are anonymous; anyone can report a video (it disappears from Discover immediately) or block a creator.

What we collect

No ads, no ad tracking, no crash-reporting SDK. We store your account details, the lines you write, the videos you generate, purchase status and basic usage events. The full list, retention periods and your rights are in the privacy policy. You can delete your account from inside the app or from the account deletion page.

Pricing, plainly

The download is free. Creating videos needs a subscription (weekly or yearly, no free trial) that includes 2 videos a day, up to 30 a month, with +5 and +15 add-on packs if you run out. Current prices are shown in the app.
