Home and Family Cockroach Videos: Parents, Siblings, Remote Wars

A family cockroach video is the dinner-table comment you didn't make, delivered by a cartoon roach on the couch instead. Type the line, mention "in the living room" or "at the dinner table", and the roach says it lip-synced in a short vertical clip, in whatever language your family group uses.

Home is funny because nobody there is impressed by you. Mom asking if you ate, Dad guarding the thermostat, a sibling who has held the remote since 2019, the guests who "just stopped by" for four hours. All of it is script.

  • Did You Eat

Yes Mom, I ate. Yes, a real meal. No, coffee doesn't count, I know.

Send it to your mom before she asks; she'll ask anyway.

  • Dad the Thermostat Guardian

Touch the thermostat again and you're paying the bill. Love, Dad.

The dad line every household has heard; works in every language.

  • Sibling Remote Rights

I was born first. I hold the remote. This is the law of the couch.

For the sibling group chat, from whoever has the remote.

  • Guests at the Door

The guests said five minutes. It's been three hours and they just sat back down.

Post it to the family chat while the guests are still there.

  • Roach on the Couch

A roach sprawled on the couch, remote clutched to its chest, eyes closed, saying: "I'm not sleeping. I'm watching this."

Every dad, every Sunday, one line.

  • Mom's Kitchen Inspection

A mom roach opening the fridge in a kitchen, sighing at the leftovers, saying: "Who put an empty box back in here?"

The fridge crime nobody confesses to; tag the whole house.

  • Mom Roach, Kid Roach

Mom roach: Where are you going? Kid roach: Out. Mom roach: Out is not a place.

Three lines every parent and every teenager has performed.

  • Sibling Chore Negotiation

Big roach: Your turn to do the dishes. Little roach: I did them last year. Big roach: That's not how turns work.

Sibling logic at its finest; send it to the one who never washes up.

Family jokes hit harder when a bug delivers them

Family humor is dangerous to say out loud and perfect to send as a cartoon. A cockroach on the couch announcing that it holds the remote by birthright gets a laugh from the same sibling who would fight you over the real remote. The roach also gives everyone an out: it's not you calling Dad a thermostat tyrant, it's the bug. Because Roachy: AI Talking Cockroach speaks whatever language you type, the same joke works in the family group that switches between two languages mid-sentence. Type it the way your family actually talks.

Turning a family fight into a two-roach scene

Most family arguments are already dialogue, so write them that way. "Mom roach: Where are you going?" on one line, "Kid roach: Out." on the next, and a third line for the closer. Every name you put before the colon becomes a cockroach in the clip, and the words after it are said exactly as written. Two or three short lines fit a 5 to 10 second video; a fourth usually gets cut for time. If you'd rather narrate, describe the scene instead: "A dad roach asleep on the couch, remote in hand, insisting he's watching this."

  • Label speakers by role: Mom roach, Dad roach, Big roach, Little roach
  • Three lines, each under ten words
  • End on the parent's line; parents always get the last word

Send it to the family group, in their language

The family group chat is the natural home, and language is the secret weapon. Write the line in Spanish for your grandmother, Hindi for your uncle, or the mix your cousins actually use, and the roach speaks it back in that language with no settings to change. The video is vertical and short, so it plays fine in any messaging app and as a story. Save it from My Videos, send it to the group, and wait for the aunt who takes it seriously. There is always one.

How to make it in Roachy

  1. Open the Create tab and type the line in the language your family actually texts in; the roach speaks whatever you type.
  2. Pick a quality, tap Create, and go back to arguing about the remote.
  3. Grab it from My Videos once the notification comes, save it to your phone, and drop it in the family group.

Questions

Can the roach speak Spanish or Hindi for my parents?

Yes. The roach speaks the language you type in, with no language setting to fiddle with. Write the line in Spanish, Hindi, Turkish, Arabic or Portuguese and it comes back in that language. The app's menus come in 11 languages too; you pick one on first launch, and it changes the menus and the ready-made ideas, not the roach's language.

I wrote 'the dog' in my scene. Why is the dog a cockroach?

Because in Roachy every character becomes a cartoon roach: people, pets, crowds, even the guests. Your words, including anything in quotes, stay exactly as you typed them, but the cast is all cockroaches. Lean into it; a roach begging at the dinner table is funnier anyway.

Is Roachy OK for my kids to use?

No. Roachy is an 18+ app and isn't designed for children. Make the family video yourself, then share it to the family group; the kids can laugh at the result without having the app.
